Perfectogon Crystalmat

Replacing its ancestor in their overlapping range, the Perfectogon Crystalmat is similar to temperate populations of its ancestor. It grows almost uncontrollably, fueled by sunlight, filter-feeding, and consuming the various flora it grows over; if not for its predator, the Red-Tailed Shovelface, it would be an unstoppable destructive force, much like its ancestor. Without mass die-offs to trigger its reproductive cycle, it reproduces a little slower and does so year-round. It has little need to trap in extra heat, unlike its ancestor, so it has more exposed mycelium where heat can escape.
