Twilight Mosshroom
Split off from the Crystal Mosshroom, the Twilight Mosshroom is pretty much identical except that it lives in the twilight zone, where many individuals encrust and break down the remains of various twilight biota. Much like its ancestor, it has a relatively short life but produces great clouds of glittery water-borne spores, and it resembles a black gemstone with a “fiery” core when held to light—an appearance caused by its reddish insides showing through its slightly translucent shell.
