The Hoppok is a small herbivore with a taste for Purpleblades. Though not an aquatic creature, it happily bounds into the riparian biome when it isn’t flooded to feed on Riparian Purpleblade just as much as the ordinary Purpleblade; during droughts, it is almost exclusively seen near rivers and streams where food remains available and abundant. Although its four eyes give it a wide field of view and its forearms help bring food to its mouth, the Hoppok nonetheless has a flexible segmented neck-torso, allowing it to bend down to drink more easily. Like its ancestor, it uses its forelimbs to grasp plant matter to consume, and its fins and facial markings serve roles in sexual display and communication. Though its digging ability is limited, to hide from predators while sleeping it scrapes itself a shallow burrow surrounded by vegetation.
