The Greater Crestgill split from its ancestor and dramatically increased in size, allowing it to consume more detritus. In essence, it’s just a big crestgill. It makes use of gut microbes in the form of denitrifying detritis and nitromethanians, which respectively help it digest tougher detritus such as that from crystal flora and help keep a healthy nitrogen cycle going in its gut. It digs around with its face like an earthworm, it inverts its mouth to grab food to eat, it has two wombs or two testes depending on its sex, it mates by holding hands with its anal fingers, and its babies are born as miniature adults.
