Karatoglob has developed to have much larger colonies, spanning a mm across. With the abundance of Nitromethanians, methane is much easier to come by. This has allowed Karatoglob to establish comparatively large colonies on the polar seabed. The absence of predators and competition in Fermi’s polar waters has allowed the Karatoglob colonies to gain control of expansive areas of the seabed. Reproduction inside the colony takes place via binary fission. New colonies are founded through fragmentation. Whenever the colony is broken apart by currents or the actions of fauna, the pieces can found new colonies.
