Hellworm
Expanding to the dark, hot depths, among the black smokers and vents the Hellworm filled the niche of the local filter-feeding scavenger. It has evolved filter-feeding hairs on the end of its antennae. It catches microbes and detritus in the water and scoops it into its radula-based mouth.They also retain their chemoreceptors to be able to find food more easily. It has lost all pigmentation due to the lack of sunlight. While it still has eyes they too have weakened and only are their to pick up the faint light of the smoking vents. Its chitinous skeleton has developed more spikes to protect it from predators, such as the Umbraworm and Tudeep Sucker. It also is a lot more resistance to extreme heat and pressure.
