Binucleustrifolda tria is a bottom-dwelling descendant of Binucleusdetritivorous binnuclei. It is a group of three cells, each one scavenging for food and sharing nutrients with each other. Now one may think that B. tria is a rather plain, boring species, but it does have one unusual method of defense: Whenever B. tria detects a predator, the three cells will quickly fold along the lines where they connect and their middle, quickly propelling then away from danger. This method of locomotion is rather inefficient for it though, so it prefers to slowly move along the seafloor instead.
